FAQ

We have very different rules compared to other quiz groups so please do go through the FAQ carefully.

Q1: I don’t live in Bangalore. Can I become a member?

A: By all means! We’d love to have you as a member. We have members from all over the world!

Q2: Where can I get the answers to the quizzes?

A: We send the answers directly to your mailbox as soon as you respond to any particular quiz.

As a matter of policy, we do not give out answers publicly. This is in keeping with our philosophy that one cannot get something for nothing but must work towards a desired objective.

Q3: Do you have any special requirements to be followed when answering quizzes?

Yes, we do! Because we are a high volume group, we need the subject line of your response to be exactly as below.

Re: [bangalore_quiz] Quiz Number {Name of Quiz}

For example: Re: [bangalore_quiz] 131207 WESTERN CLASSICAL MUSIC QUIZ

You can achieve the above by simply hitting the REPLY button of your email client.

However, if you are replying from Yahoo Groups, you will have to manually ensure that you achieve the proper format, before you send the quiz.

We also require you cut all extraneous matter prior to your sending us your response. details regarding this as well as our other rules are given in each quiz that we send out.

Q4: Is there a response limit?

Yes - 4 quizzes/day.

We study response patterns and if we feel that a person has an abnormal response pattern or is trying to leech our database, the membership could be cancelled without prior notice.

Q5:  Can I submit a blank response and get answers?

No! Many people have tried to get the answers to a particular quiz by submitting blank answers. We discourage blank answers. We also discourage nonsensical answers and submitting such responses will almost invariably ensure that your membership gets cancelled.

Given the very high quality of our quizzes, it is just not worth taking any risks. People value highly membership to our quiz group.

Q6: My friend wants to become a member. What must she do?

A: She must submit an ID proof to the email ID prksh1@gmail.com. If she is working, we require an email from her official mail ID. If she is a student, we would need a scanned copy of her college ID + her mobile phone number. If she is a housewife, we would need her mobile phone number.

Q7: May I suggest members who may be interested?

A: No. We would to need to follow the above ID proof procedure. They should follow the procedure mentioned in point # 6 above.

Q8: What is the scoring system you follow?

A: Except in tournaments such as THE SEVENTH SENSE and THE SUPER SIXER SERIES, we  do not follow a scoring system. This is a deliberate policy.

Q9: Can I set a quiz?

A: Yes, of course. Here are some rules that need to be strictly followed. These are:

1. The quiz should be unique to this group and should not be posted by you elsewhere.

2. When you send us the quiz questions, you must send us the answers as well. We will handle all the replies and send out the answers.

3. All answers must have been validated by you. (Validation means using an impeccable source of information like MSN Encarta, Wikipedia, etc.)

4. Quizzes may be sent to Prakash Subbarao for being published at the website.

5. All quizzes that you set become the property of The Bangalore Quiz Group and may be used at its discretion with credit / without crediting you as the source. (However, we invariably credit the source).
